# (G22) Hostage Situations and Roleplay Standards

Hostage scenarios must be roleplayed to a high standard, with the aim of creating an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Willing participants, such as your own gang members or friends, must not be used as hostages.

Executing another player must be realistic and supported by strong roleplay. For example, using a bladed weapon is required to roleplay cutting someone’s throat.

You may not use the in-game phone to issue threats or warnings to police, such as stating that officers within a certain distance will be shot.

If police activate their lights or sirens to attend a scene, this does not automatically initiate roleplay. Attacking without proper engagement is considered RDM.

The use of spike strips alone does not count as roleplay. Failing to engage in quality roleplay in these situations will be treated as RDM.

You may only have one character in a gang or legal profession at any given time. If you control multiple characters on opposing sides of a storyline, you must choose one character to continue that story.

Suicide, Terrorist or Mass Murder RP are not allowed. This isn't an exhaustive list but any extreme roleplay must be passed by staff before the scene starts.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://britishrp.gitbook.io/britishrp/fivem-rules/g22-hostage-situations-and-roleplay-standards.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
